To Eki: Life, Light & Colors.

Growing up, I watched many old clips which were monochromes of black and white and always thought that those years they depicted were actually that dark and without color.

I thought the brightness of the skies and the color that graced the earth was a result of advancement in technology.

I thought wrong.

I am oft to look back on the years through life and point at highlights of achievements, disappointments, aspirations and life just being life and getting in the way of perfectly crafted plans.

Our will to meander through those moments and challenges and yet reroute ourselves to our original or new destination determines if we fall or fly in life.

But then I digress…

Before you came, I was those monochromatic stills or motion pictures caught in the advancement of another age and unable to express and fully experience the detailed beauty that exists.

I lived in a unidimensional reality, mostly unable to fully grasp the allure of all things beautiful, wondrous and awe-inspiring.

Before you came, I believed myself to have achieved fairly and on the path to lay hold of more, but with the attainment of your love, all else fades, faints and falls away.

I am redeemed by the warmth of your friendship, upheld by love too great to be mortal, renervated by your commitment and devotion.

In the face of such love, what can a man do but admit to all who care to hear and even those who don’t; that he is undone by love and will seek the help of none to reverse this.

I am undone. I am amazed by you. You are light, colors and everything that is lovely and life-giving!!!

I love you always!!!

Happy birthday, Eki.
